Lagos, Nov. 9, 2017 (NAN) A 26- year-old man, Oluwadamilare Akinde, who allegedly stole his employer’s N94,000, was on Thursday charged before an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court.
The accused, a sales clerk, who resides at Block 353, Abesan Estate, Ipaja, a suburb of Lagos, is being tried for stealing.
The Prosecutor, Sgt. Yomi Egunjobi told the court that the offence was committed sometime in October at a bar in Abesan, Lagos.
Egunjobi said the complainant, Mr Ganiu Odugbesan, entrusted his business to the accused while he travelled.
“When the complainant returned, he found out that N94,000 was missing from the sales the accused made, “he said.
The offence contravened Section 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the accused, on conviction, may be sentenced to seven years imprisonment according to the provisions of Section 287.
The accused, however, pleaded guilty to the charge.
The Magistrate, Mrs O. I. Raji, remanded the accused in prison and adjourned the case until Nov. 24 for facts and sentence. (NAN)
