Publisher to train 120 youths on skills acquisition in Kano

Kano, March 13, 2018 (NAN) A Hausa Newspaper company in Kano, MATASHIYA, on Tuesday said it would train 120 unemployed youths on various skills in the state.

The publisher of the newspaper, Alhaji Abubakar Murtala-Ibrahim, disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Kano.

He said the training, which commenced on March 3, was designed to make the beneficiaries self-reliant to enable them contribute to the development of the state.

He said of the organisation had already 32 males and and 88 females for the programme, adding, “Some of the trades to be taught include beards making, cosmetics, photography and video coverage.

“We are also training some of the beneficiaries who read Mass Communication on radio and television production.

“This is the first time a privately owned media in the state is training unemployed youths free of charge,” he said.

He said the organisation would continue to support youths and women to acquire skills to enable them be on their own in view of the unemployment challenges bedeviling the country.

He said after the training, the graduands would receive certificate of attendance to enable them establish business of their choice.

He called on corporate bodies to partner with the organisation to support the initiative for economic growth and development of the state.

He also advised youths to embrace any meaningful venture to enhance their socio-economic status. (NAN)
