Abuja, Aug. 28, 2017 (NAN) The Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD) said Monday that itpaid over N834 million in outstanding arrears to pensioners in the South-South Zone,
The PTAD stated this in a statement in Abuja sent by Mr Emma Okondo, Deputy Director, Corporate Communications and made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
It stated that the payment was made to 1,690 pensioners on Aug. 18.
PTAD assured pensioners of its determination to improve their welfare in line with its “mandate under the Defined Benefit Scheme (DBS).
The Directorate has been conducting biometric verification of pensioners across the country to enhance transparency and prompt payment of pensions. (NAN)
