Bucharest, Aug. 17, 2017 (dpa/NAN) A pregnant Romanian woman jumped in front of a speeding train with her three small children on Thursday in an apparent suicide, the police said.
According to Mediafax news agency, the 30-year-old woman and her daughters, aged three, eight and 10, were killed instantly.
The train engineer told the police that he saw the woman emerge from a forest and jump onto the tracks with the smallest child in her arm and dragging the two others by the hand.
Police found a farewell note from the woman, who had been in long-term psychiatric treatment.
Her family told investigators that the woman’s mental health had deteriorated with her latest pregnancy.
Trains scheduled between the capital Bucharest and the Black Sea was delayed for several hours as a result of the incident. (dpa/NAN)
