Power coy assures host communities of continuous development

Lagos, Sept. 16, 2016 (NAN) The management of Egbin Power company has said that it will continue to empower, provide sustainable development and support to its host communities.
The company’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr Dallas Peavey, gave the assurance in a statement made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos on Friday.
Peavey said the company was a responsible corporate citizen that was committed to the upliftment of its host communities as well as their inhabitants.
“We will continue to support the host communities in a sustainable manner, not only in the area of education, but also in the area of employment generation, provision of social amenities, medicare, and security support.
“We will continue to give support in skills and vocational training to improve on the economic lives and the general well being of the people in our immediate environment and beyond,’’ he said.
He said his company had on Sept. 6 gave scholarships to indigent students of Egbin, Ipakan and Ijede communities to support them in their educational career.
He said the 14 beneficiaries of the programme who emerged after a competitive examination would have all their expenses paid by the company throughout their secondary school career.
Peavey said that beneficiaries would also be automatically admitted into Egbin’s Powerfields College, a secondary run by the company. (NAN)
