Kano, Feb. 2, 2017(NAN) The Kano State Police Command says it has put in place a collaborative effort between it and community vigilante groups to fight crimes in the State.
The Commissioner of Police in charge of the state, Alhaji Rabiu Yusuf made this known on Thursday in Kano State when he received executive members of Hausawa Africa International Association in his office.
Yusuf said that the police had put in place a combined team between it and communities to carry out surveillance in the nook and cranny of the state aimed at ensuring peace and security.
He said that the initiative would combat crimes and fish out criminals from the state.
The commissioner assured vigilante groups and security associations in the state of better security with the collaborative effort.
The President of the association, who is also the Sardauna of Agadas, Dr Abdulkadir Koguna said that setting up the group also known as “Agajin Hausawa Arewa” is a collective responsibility to tackle crimes in the state.
Koguna said that the association welcomed the necessary support of the police to effectively complement its effort to rid the state of crime. (NAN)
