Lagos, Jan. 26, 2017 (NAN) For allegedly stealing his employer’s N165,000, an 18-year-old boy, Promise Onyema, on Thursday appeared before an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court.
The accused, a housekeeper, who resides at Maryland, Lagos is facing one count charge of stealing.
The prosecutor, Insp. Simeon Inuoha told the court that the offence was committed on Dec. 20, 2016 at the accused residence.
Inuoha said that the accused stole his employer, one Mr Gabriel Emetole ‘s money and disappeared.
“The accused was arrested based on a useful information the police heard of his whereabout.
“The money stolen was N165,000,” he said.
Inuoha said that the offence contravened Section 285 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
The accused pleaded not guilty.
The Chief Magistrate, Mrs B. O. Osunsanmi granted the accused to a bail of N50,000 with two sureties in like sum.
However, Osunsanmi adjourned the case to March 9 for mention. (NAN)
