Teenagers
Lagos, Dec. 15, 2016 (NAN) The police in Lagos, on Thursday, arraigned three teenagers before an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court, for alleged damage to property, breach of peace and conspiracy.
The Police Prosecutor, Sgt. Ajayi Emmanuel named the accused persons to include: Abayomi Ishola (20), Taiwo Oyetunji (16) and Semiu Lawal (17), whose addresses are unknown.
Emmanuel, told the court that the accused among others still at large, committed the offences on Dec. 3 at Oboye and Falana Street, Ejigbo, a suburb of Lagos.
He alleged that the accused willfully destroyed a kiosk valued at N25, 000, belonging to one Rasaq Wasiu.
The prosecutor said that the accused also damaged the property of one Gbemisola Afolabi.
“The accused used stones to damage the windscreen and side mirror of the car valued N70, 000, belonging to Gbemisola Afolabi .
“They also engaged in a public fight, using different weapons such as bottles and cutlasses,’’ he said.
According to him, the offences contravene Sections 248, 285, 409 and 516 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2011.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty.
Magistrate F.A. Azeez, who presided over the case, granted the accused N60,000 bail each with two sureties each in like sum.
Azeez said that the sureties must be employees of reputable companies within the court’s jurisdiction.
He ordered that the sureties must also show evidence of tax payment.
The case was adjourned to Dec. 21 for Mention. (NAN)
