Bomb
Jos, March 22, 2017(NAN) The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Plateau has dismissed rumours of a bomb scare at its permanent orientation camp on Tuesday.
Ms Caroline Embu, Head of Public Relations Unit of the corps in the state, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday in Jos that the alleged report about the scare was absolutely false and misleading.
“The news making the rounds said that there was a bomb scare at the NYSC orientation camp.
“However, the orientation camp stated in the news was our temporary orientation camp, which is the Zang Commercial College, Bukuru.
“That temporary orientation camp was last used in 2013 by the NYSC, as we have moved to our permanent camp since 2013.
“So, as you can see, the news is absolutely false,” Embu said.
She said that the NYSC had since moved to its permanent orientation camp in Mangu, in Mangu Local Government Area.
The spokesperson said there was no bomb scare at the permanent orientation camp during the last orientation which held from Jan.25 to Feb.13.
She said that adequate security measures had been put in place by the scheme to ensure the safety of lives and property at the permanent orientation camp. (NAN)
