Abuja, Feb. 15, 2017 (NAN) A photographer, James Ali, 37, was on Wednesday arraigned in a Karmo Grade 1 Area Court, Abuja, for alleged criminal breach of trust.
Ali, photographer at studio 24 Gwarimpa Estate Abuja is standing trial on a one-count charge of breach of trust.
Earlier, the prosecutor, Zannah Dalhatu, told the court that one Joseph Ardo of Dawaki Extention, Abuja, reported the matter at the Gwarimpa Police Station Abuja on Feb. 12.
Dalhatu said that the complainant alleged that on Jan. 7, the defendant dishonestly collected a sum of N50, 000 to cover full photography of his wedding event and after receiving the money he refused to deliver the pictures.
The prosecutor also said that the defendant allegedly requested for the balance of the agreed amount and intentionally refused to produce the memory card of the photographs.
Dalhatu said that the offence contravened Section 312 of the Penal Code.
The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges levelled against him.
Counsel to the defendant, Cynthia Nnamdi applied for his bail, and assured the court that the defendant would not jump bail.
The judge, Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq, granted him bail in the sum of N10, 000 and one surety in like sum
Sadiq said that the surety must reside within the court jurisdiction and adjourned the case till March 15, for further hearing. (NAN)
