Approval
Panskhin (Plateau) Dec. 8, 2016 (NAN) The Pharmacists Council of Nigeria (PCN) on Thursday in Pankshin gave provisional approval to the College of Health Technoloy, Pankshin, to run its Pharmacy Technician Programme.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the approval letter signed by Dr Anthony Idoko on behalf of the council’s Registrar, was sent to the provost of the college, Dr Jonathan Daboer.
“I have been directed to refer you to the council’s verification carried out on April 13 to April 16, 2016.
“In line with recommendation of the verification visit, the PCN has given approval to your college to give admission to students of Pharmacy Technician Programme with effect from this academic session, ’’ the letter reads.
The council, however, said that its next visit to the college would be in six months time for another verification, particularly on how the programme was faring.
Dr Jonathan Daboer, the college provost, expressed happiness with the provisional approval granted to the college by the council and described it as “another milestone in sand of history of the college’’.
“We just got their letter of approval, which gave us the go ahead to even admit students for this session for the programme.
“With this approval, it brings to five the number of our programmes that are fully accredited, ’’ Daboer said.
Daboer expressed appreciation to the PCN for the gesture, adding that the recent visit by 4-man Committee from the Radiology Registration Board of Nigeria “ will equally consider Radiology Course and give us full accreditation’’. (NAN)
