Jos, April 5, 2017(NAN) Mrs. Pauline Tallen, former Plateau Deputy Governor, has described her late husband, John Tallen, as her teacher and mentor.

“My late husband groomed me to accomplish all that I was able to accomplish in my political career and in other aspects of life,” she said on Wednesday in Jos, while receiving members of the National Association of Women Journalist (NAWOJ), on a condolence visit.

“ My husband was my teacher and mentor; he was very kindhearted and taught me many basics. He is a key part of my success story.

“ Though he was bedridden for a long time, his presence as a father figure in the house was in itself a strong guide,” he said.

Tallen thanked NAWOJ for mourning with her, saying that she was touched by such show of love.

Earlier, Mrs. Jennifer Yerima, NAWOJ Chairperson in Plateau, had prayed to God to comfort the bereaved family.

She said that the late John Tallen was a good example of a pillar every woman would pray for, saying that he had left a legacy that all should seek to emulate.

Yerima described Tallen’s widow, Pauline, as a role model in the society, saying that she had achieved much and would always be a reference point for women seeking to leave their footprints in the sand of time.

NAN reports that Mr. Tallen died in Abuja on Tuesday, March 28, after a protracted illness. He was aged 83. (NAN)
