Christmas
By Millicent Ifeanyichukwu
Lagos, Dec. 25, 2016 (NAN) Mr Matthias Anabaraonye, the sectional Pastor of Assemblies of God Church, Orilawe in Alagbado, Lagos State, on Monday advised Christians to make the purpose of the birth of Jesus a priority in their lives.
Anabaraonye gave the advice in the church auditorium during the sermon in his message tagged: “God with us’’ to mark the Christmas celebration.
He said that Jesus Christ was born to redeem and reconcile believers with God.
“The reason God made this day is because of me and you, and so we must not see Christmas as a season of eating, wearing new cloths and merrying alone, rather a saviour is born unto us.
“Jesus was born for the salvation of our soul and God is always with us which is the meaning of his name, ‘Emmanuel’,’’ he said.
He urged Christians to endeavour to show love to people around them and make peace, adding that it was an attribute of a good Christian. (NAN).
