Ibadan, March 29, 2017(NAN) The Oyo State Government has donated a standard six-bedroom officers lodge to the State Joint Security Tax Force known as “Operation Burst”.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the building was handed over to the security outfit by Mr Segun Abolarinwa, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Security Matters.

NAN reports that Operation Burst has its men drawn from the Nigeria Army, Nigeria Air Force, Department of State Security (DSS) and Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC).

Abolarinwa stated that the idea to provide accommodation for the officers was conceived by Gov. Abiola Ajimobi, who felt that there was need for such standard accommodation for the officers.

“The lodge is built, especially for officers who come from various commands to Ibadan. This is meant for officers who are on transit or short term duty in Ibadan for a short period,” he said.

He explained that the lodge was part of the state government’s effort at ensuring better welfare for the officers.

The special adviser said that the state government had built its developmental tripod of transformation, restoration and re-positioning on security.

He said that the Ajimobi-led administration had ensured peace across the state since its inception six years ago and was ready to do everything within its capability to sustain it.

Brig.-Gen. Usman Yusuf, the Commander of the State Joint Security Tax Force, commended the governor and the people of the state for their continued support to the security outfit.

He said that the state government had two weeks ago increased the fuel allocation to the security outfit in spite of economic hardships in the state.

“It is also great to note that members of this outfit have always received their allowances when due. We are grateful to the state governor,” he said.

Yusuf said that the lodge would encourage the officers to be more efficient and effective in their operations.

“I assure you as the Commander of Operation Burst in Oyo State that we will do our best to ensure that we fight all violent crimes to keep the state safe.

“And we will continue to work with other security agencies in the state to ensure that people of the state sleep with their two eyes closed and their businesses prosper,” he said. (NAN)
