Lagos, Jan. 6, 2017 (NAN) Mr Shehu Zaki, Zonal Commanding Officer (ZCO), Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ogun and Lagos Commands said the Corps would reduce road crashes nationwide to the barest minimum.

Zaki said this on Friday during the decoration of newly-promoted staff in the Lagos and Ogun State Commands.

“Our aim in FRSC is to reduce road crashes to barest minimal.

‘“The purpose of the promotion is to rededicate staff to hard work.

“Management believes you are going to discharge your duty
effectively for the Corps to achieve the mandate of its formation, ‘’ he said.

According to him, the United Nations has made a declaration that by 2020 all nations should reduce road crashes by half.

Zaki also said that the FRSC in the process of meeting the target, introduced speed limit to checkmate the excesses of the drivers.

Mr Olusegun Olapade, one of the newly-promoted staff, said he was happy with the promotion, adding that the new rank would encourage him to work harder.

Olapade, who was promoted from Deputy Corps Commander to Corps Commander (CC) gave kudos to the management for the promotion.

Mr Sadiq Abdul-Rahman, who was also promoted from Assistant Corps Commander to Deputy Corps Commander said that his new position would encourage him to do more in discharging his duty.

Another beneficiary of the promotion, Abdul-Rahman, advised the junior staff to work hard to achieve the corps objective of reducing road crashes to the barest minimum.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that 52 personnel were promoted in both Lagos and Ogun State Zonal Commands and 23 were decorated on Friday at Ojodu Berger Zonal of office Lagos.(NAN)
