Court remands 2 men in prison for alleged armed robbery

Ibadan, June 5, 2018 (NAN) An Oyo State High Court sitting in Ibadan on Tuesday remanded Segun Oke and Taye Bolaji in prison for alleged armed robbery.
Justice Laniran Akintola remanded the defendants after they pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Akintola adjourned the case till Sept. 25 for commencement of trial.
The Prosecuting counsel, Mr Kehinde Adeleye, had told the court that the defendants armed with guns and other dangerous weapons robbed Adewole Yekin, Ogunleye Oreofe, Rasheedat Ogunleye and Muyideen Omolayo of their belongings.
Adeleye said that the defendants collected from their victims, cell phones, Laptops and other valuables worth N643,000.
He said the robbery occurred at Kuolu, Adegbayi Area of Ibadan on May 28, 2015 at about 2 a.m.
The prosecutor said the offence contravened Section 2 (a) (b) of robbery and Fire armed (Special Provision) Act Laws of Federation of Nigeria 2000.
The defendants pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Counsel to the defendants, Mrs Olayinwola Toyosi and Mayowa Oyekan, applied for adjournment to enable them file application for bail of their clients. (NAN)
