Lagos, Aug. 16, 2017 (NAN) Clifford Chukwuma, coach of the Delta Queens Football Club, on Wednesday said the club would not disappoint its fans at the forthcoming Nigeria Women Premier League (NWFL) Super Four competition.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the competition kicks off on Sept. 11

The Delta girls will compete alongside Bayelsa Queens, Rivers Angels and Nasarawa Amazon in a round robin game.

The 2016/2017 season, which comprises 15 teams, was divided into Group A and Group B, where the four clubs emerged as the top two from the groups.

Chukwuma said that his club ended the season on a bright note, adding that fans would expect the players to keep the momentum in the Super Four.

“We worked earnestly to get to this position and I am happy we will be competing in the Super Four.

“I wish the Super Four was played this week because my players are in top form, but any day any time, they are equal to the task and we will not disappoint our fans, ” he said.

The coach commended the Aisha Falode-led NWPL board for enhancing the profile of the league, saying there was room for improvement.

Chukwuma said the league, which graduated from what it was in the past, would attract viable sponsors as the league progressed.

“With good performances and improved skills from our girls, the league will attract sponsors,” he said.

Delta Queens finished top of group B with 26 points. (NAN)
