Deal
Teheran, March 21, 2017 (dpa/NAN) Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Zarif said on Tuesday that Iran could withdraw from the 2015 nuclear deal if Washington continues to block its implementation.
He said Iran was ready to return to the situation before the agreement if the deal was no longer in its national interest.
The nuclear deal was ratified in July 2015 by Iran and the five permanent members of the UN Security Council, U.S., Britain, Russia, France, and China, with Germany.
It permits Iran to use nuclear power for civil purposes but not to build nuclear weapons.
Under the deal, economic sanctions on Iran were to be lifted, but the U.S. is maintaining various sanctions. (dpa (NAN)
