NSCDC says 67 registered Private Guards Companies operating in Edo

Benin, Feb. 1, 2017 (NAN) Dr Benito Eze, State Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Edo Command, says that there are presently no fewer than 67 registered Private Guards Companies operating in the state.
Eze told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday in Benin that of the figure, 18 were indigenous companies while 49 were foreign.
He said that in 2016, seven new private guard companies instituted their registration processes.
The commandant disclosed that two companies were sealed in 2016 for various offences and failing to meet basic registration requirements.
He said further that in 2016, the command resolved a total of 16 civil cases ranging from communal, family and other matters.
Eze reiterated the corps’ determination to effectively discharge its mandate.(NAN)
