NiMet predicts moderate weather for Wednesday

Abuja, Feb. 21, 2017 (NAN) The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted moderate dust haze conditions with horizontal visibility range of two to five kms over the central states of the country on Wednesday.

NiMet gave the prediction in its Weather Outlook issued by the Central Forecast Office on Tuesday in Abuja.

It said that the region would have day and night temperatures of 29 degrees to 37 degrees Celsius and 18 degrees to 22 degrees Celsius respectively.

The agency predicted that the southern states would experience moderate dust haze over parts of the inland cities, with horizontal visibility of two to five kms.

It also predicted chances of localised rain showers over the coastal cities in the afternoon and evening period, with day and night temperatures of 34 degrees to 36 degrees and 19 degrees to 24 degrees Celsius respectively.

According to NiMet, northern states will experience moderate dust haze conditions with visibility range of two to five kms. during the forecast period.

“The region will also have day and night temperature of 30 degrees to 34 degrees and 15 degrees to 18 degrees Celsius respectively.

“Moderate dust haze conditions are expected to prevail over the northern and central cities down to the inland cities, with visibility range of two degrees to five kms.

“There will be chances of localised rain showers over the coastal cities in the afternoon and evening hours,’’ NiMet predicted. (NAN)
