Minna, April 4, April 2017 (NAN) The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) in Niger on Tuesday advised expatriates in the state to always regularise their documents with the command.
The Comptroller of the service in the state, Mrs Tamuno Oyedeji, gave the advice on Tuesday at a sensitisation lecture on Immigration facilities held at the command headquarters.
Oyedeji said the demand of an increasingly globalised and integrated world economy coupled with available of modern transportation had brought about modern migration.
She explained that because this, the NIS pushed for repeal of the Immigration Act,1963 and enactment of Immigration Act, 2015.
She said that the Immigration Regulations 2017 were unveiled to the general public recently.
The comptroller said the command, therefore, organised the forum in order to bring the knowledge to all expatriates working and residing in the state .
She said that the command had all the facilities needed to regularise all expatriates’ documents.
“You don’t need to travel out of the state for documentation as our officers will put you through the need to know about available immigration facilities, ” she said.
Oyedeji said the command had taken proactive security measures to ensure that only immigrants with proper documents were allowed to stay in the state. NAN)
