NiMet predicts sunny, dry, partly cloudy weather for Thursday

Abuja, March 15, 2017 (NAN) The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted sunny, dry and partly cloudy conditions over the central states of the country on Thursday.

NiMet made the prediction in the Weather Outlook by its Central Forecast Office (CFO) on Wednesday in Abuja.

It said there would be prospects of localised thunderstorms over Lokoja during the afternoon and evening hours with day and night temperature of 33 to 42 and 17 to 28 degrees Celsius.

The agency predicted that southern states would experience partly cloudy conditions with prospects of localised thunderstorms over Akure, Lagos, Portharcourt, Calabar, Eket and Yenagoa during the afternoon and evening hours.

It also predicted localised thunderstorms over the coastal cities with day and Night temperatures of 32 to 39 and 23 to 25 degrees Celsius.

According to NiMet,northern states will experience sunny and dry conditions with day and Night temperature of 37 to 39 and 15 to 23 degrees Celsius.

“With increase in air temperatures, the north will still be hot while the coast has prospects of thunderstorms in the next 24 hours,” it predicted.(NAN)
