Abuja, March 21, 2017 (NAN) The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet), has predicted partly cloudy weather conditions over the central states of the country on Wednesday.
NiMet gave the prediction in the Weather Outlook by its Central Forecast Office on Tuesday in Abuja.
It added that cloudy conditions would prevail over Lokoja and Makurdi in the afternoon and evening hours with day and night temperatures of 32 to 40 and 16 to 28 degrees Celsius respectively.
The agency predicted that southern states would experience cloudy conditions over the inland and coastal cities with day and night temperatures of 34 to 38 and 21 to 26 degrees Celsius respectively.
It also predicted prospects of localised thunderstorms over Lagos, Port-Harcourt, Eket, Calabar, Yenegoa, Warri, Oshogbo, Ado-Ekiti, Enugu, Awka and Benin during the afternoon and evening hours.
According to NiMet, northern states would experience sunny and hazy conditions with localised horizontal visibility range of three to five kilometres with day and night temperatures of 38 to 40 and 20 to 24 degrees Celsius respectively.
“Sunny and hazy situation are expected over the northern cities and partly cloudy conditions over the central region while cloudy conditions are anticipated over the southern areas with prospects of localized thunderstorms,” NiMet predicted. (NAN)
