Abuja, May 20, 2018 (NAN) Mrs Halima Usman, President of the Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA), Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Chapter, said that plans have been concluded to fine-tune works of writers to improve content.

Usman made this known in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Sunday in Abuja.

According to her, this will be achieve through the critique session of the association where writers will bring their works to be assessed and get the necessary feedback to ensure quality of content.

“This is because, people just write anything; liaise with some school authorities and teachers and sell such books to students.

“This has lead to our children reading all kinds of wrong books and information.

“ANA is poised to encourage decent content that children, teenage and adults can read and associate with it.

“This will help pass good information that will mould our children’s character,’’ she said.

She explained that good books with quality content would positively help in shaping the emotions and characters of both children and
adults.

Usman, who was just elected into office, promised that she would foster unity and encourage peaceful coexistence among members, especially in the FCT.

According to her, if ANA start getting it right, it will inevitably translates into peaceful coexistence in the community, society and the nation at large.

“We are bringing back the association to what it is originally meant to be: a platform for authors and writers to come and fine-tune their works,’’ Usman said. (NAN)
