Nigeria Masters: Torgah, Nji co-leaders going into final round

Abuja, Oct. 29, 2017 (NAN) Defending champion Vincent Torgah and Pristhy Nji finished as co-leaders at four over after round three of the NIGERIA MASTERS at the IBB International Golf and Country Club in Abuja on Saturday.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that after winning the last tournament of the West Africa Golf Tour, the recent “Nation at 57” event, as well as the Ivory Coast Open last week, Ghana’s Torgah had stood out as a favourite.

THE MASTERS, which is the second major tournament of the 2017 season, teed off on Thursday and is expected to end on Sunday.

Also, Gift Willy and Issa Nlareb, who tied in third position, finished one shot behind, followed by Kingsley Oparaku with 2 shots off the lead at +6.

Zimbabawe’s Visitor Mapwanya and Kojo Barnni found themselves trailing immediately, dropping from the second position both had shared on Friday after round two.

A total of eight shots separate the first from the top 10 players going into the final round of the NIGERIA MASTERS on Sunday.

The tournament is featuring 45 players from seven countries, namely Nigeria, Ghana, Cameroon, Senegal, Trinidad Tobago, Zimbabwe and Zambia.

They are competing for a share of the 50,000 dollars prize fund.

The winner will pick up 6,000 dollars and the jacket of The Masters.(NAN)
