Minna, May 2,2017( NAN) The Niger State House of Assembly has expressed readiness to ensure the full implementation of the 2017 budgetary allocation to Ibrahim Babangida University, Lapai, for its steady growth.
The House Speaker, Marafa Gumi, gave the assurance while receiving the Management of the University, led by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Mohammed Maiturare, in his office.
A statement by Baba Apatu, the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the institution, in Minna, on Tuesday reported Gumi as commending the university for its academic excellence since inception.
He said that the house would continue to do everything humanly possible to ensure the steady growth of the institution.
He called on the university to identify its needs for the upcoming accreditation of new courses as well as re-accreditation of the existing ones.
Earlier, Maiturare stressed the need to update the law on the establishment of the university, adding that details to that effect would soon be made available to the house for consideration.
He said that the management of the university was in the house to solicit cooperation and goodwill of major stakeholders as the university was facing a lot of challenges.
He lauded the house for the support rendered to the institution since its inception.( NAN)
