Abuja, Oct. 6, 2016 (NAN) The Tope Runsewe Consulting Company, an NGO, said on Thursday that measures were already in place to hold a youth empowerment seminar, tagged `SWITCH’.

Runsewe told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja that the seminar was in view of the large number of unemployed Youths in the Nigeria

He said young people must do something about the lingering cases of unemployment, instead of complaining and criticising without proffering any solution.

“It is time to switch from the old mentality of handouts to a new one of personal responsibility.

“Free money is over in Nigeria. It is time for young people to take responsibility for their lives and future,” he said.

He said it was obvious that the country was in recession, hence the need to think outside the box to seek ways of improving oneself and surviving the harsh economic reality.

Runsewe said those in attendance would be learning about secrets of thriving in business and career during economic recession.

“Participants will learn in detail about 10 business opportunities they can start with little or no more, and how to make up to N500,000 monthly without leaving your current job.

“We will be using the opportunity to provide employment for at least 10 young people who would be in attendance in their new business venture,” he said.

He quoted the Nigerian statistic office which announced that over 500,000 Nigerians lost their jobs in the first eight months of 2016 and still counting. (NAN)
