NGO solicits sponsors to drive humanitarian programme

Lagos, Sept. 23, 2017 (NAN) Mr Quadri Tijani, Leo Club International District 404B-1 President has called for sponsors for the humanitarian services the non-governmental organisation offers.

Tijani made the call during his official presentation as the newly elected organisation’s president on Saturday.

He said the organisation had been promoting youth skill empowerment, advocacy for quality education, poverty alleviation, humanitarian services and environmental protection.

According to him, the organisation needs sponsors to enable each of the programmes to strive to affect the masses positively.

“The organisation has done quite a number of skill acquisition training for youths which had yielded positive results.

“We have distributed food, toiletries, cloths, beverages, shoes, school sandals in large quantities to the lepers, crippled and the destitute.

“We want corporate bodies, organisations and private individuals to sponsor these programmes so as to make the less privileged happy,’’ he said.

Mr Sulaiman Adedokun, the chairman of the programme, charged the youths to be selfless and disciplined.

“Am quite impressed with the achievements of the Leo Club and I must say you have to remain selfless and disciplined to achieve greatness.

“I want you all present here to imbibe these virtues because it can take you to greater heights in life,’’ he said.

Mr Oyewole Oyewunmi, the Lions Club District 404B-1 Governor, also charged the newly elected president to be transparent and lead in the genuine interest of the people.

“You have been a man of great virtue and I want you to be transparent in your dealings to move the organisation forward,’’ he said.

NAN reports that more than 50 individuals made donations while the newly elected president, was crowned to serve between July 2017 and June 2018.(NAN)
