Congratulation

Abuja, Dec. 17, 2016 (NAN) The National Council of Women’s Societies on Saturday congratulated its own, Mrs Amina Mohammed, who was appointed as the new Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations.
The statement signed by the NCWS National President, Mrs Gloria Shoda, said Mohammed’s appointment should not come as a surprise to people who know her worth.
The council indicated that the appointee possess inherent capabilities to see her through the new responsibility, adding that her record of impeccable and meritorious service to Nigeria and the United Nations also stands her out.
Shoda said that the development was a reaffirmation of the global community’s confidence in Nigeria and its commitment to enhancing the status of the female gender.
“We also commend President Muhammadu Buhari and support the candidacy of the Deputy Secretary-General. The development will undoubtedly serve as a morale booster for women all over the world.
“The development will encourage Nigeria’s female population to take their places in destiny, in accordance with the various Conventions on Women Development..
‘’Mrs Muhammed’s well-deserved appointment is a testimony to the fact that women generally must work for the envisaged changes on our agenda, by putting in as much as men through the demonstration of competence and ability to perform,” said added.
Shoda pledged the support and prayers of women associations in Nigeria for the success of the new Deputy Secretary-General. (NAN)
