Abuja, Aug. 16, 2017 (NAN) Dr Rufus Ebegba, Director-General, National Biosafety Management Agency (NBMA), on Wednesday inaugurated the Local Organising Committee (LOC) for the agency’s third National Biosafety Conference.
Ebegba said via a statement in Abuja that the inauguration was part of the agency’s efforts to ensure the success of the national conference.

He charged the committee to be up and doing in order to properly showcase the agency and its mandate.

“We have a very serious responsibility to showcase our expertise as the biosafety authority in Nigeria and you should not disappoint the agency,’’ he urged the committee members.

“The objective of the annual Biosafety Conference is to bring stakeholders together to discuss how to strengthen the Nigerian biosafety system and to enlighten them on the national biosafety status.’’
Ebegba announced that the conference would be taking place at the Nile University, Abuja, on Sept. 14.

He said that various agencies would be collaborating with NBMA to ensure the success of the conference.
Responding, the Chairperson of the Committee, Ms Chinyere Nzeduru, commended the director-general for the honour given to the committee members to organise the conference.

Nzedure, who is the Director, Environmental Biosafety and General Release, pledged that the committee would work hard to ensure that the conference met the set standards. (NAN)
