Abuja, March 24, 2018 (NAN) Popular movie producer, Mrs Josephine Anumbor-Abraham said she premiered a movie, “Searching: the story of a Girl Child’’ in communities to educate and create positive impact on girl child education.

Anumbor-Abraham made this known in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Saturday in Abuja.

The movie producer and gospel singer who recently premiered the movie at Gwagwalada, a university community said there is so much to learn from the movie.

“The community is full of youths;  it is a university community; if there is any way to develop a group of people, it is to develop their youths socially mentally and morally.

“Young people get into all sorts of troubles due to their inability to overcome challenges and lack of proper information and councel.

“From what people who have watched in the movie are saying, some are going to learn to be of  help, while others will decide to help themselves by developing their talents, in other to be useful both to them selves and the world around them.

“The movie deals with intuition, reorientation and personal development to enhance the education of the girl child in  communities and country at large,” she said.

Anumbor-Abraham, who is also the Chief Executive Officer of Love to the World Initiative, a Non Governmental Organisation said communities in Kaduna, Zaria and others have been yearning to get it premiered for their people.

She noted that wherever the movie is premiered, the audience were always left in deep thought. There are moments of laughter, tears and suspense.

“People have asked us to present the movie for an award, but I am not keen on awards; it has not fulfilled its purpose. I just want to impact people.

” What is the essence of receiving awards when it has not impacted the lives of people? The award may give you prestige but without impact on people, what is the use?” she asked.

The movie “Searching: The Story of the Girl Child” is about an under aged girl in secondary school, who, against her wish was given out in marriage to an irresponsible man, a drunkard and chain smoker.

After constant abuse, rape and domestic violence, before and during pregnancy, she gave birth to a baby girl and later absconded to the city.

She was brought to a Non Governmental Organisation that got her enrolled in a fashion skill acquisition centre, after which she became independent.

She got pregnant and the wealthy and influential man responsible told her get rid of it but she refused.

She gave birth to a baby girl, gave it to her mother in the village and returned back to the city.

The little girl grew up in the village and started school. When things became hard, she traced and met her biological father who promised to pay her fees, but never did.

She could not afford the school fees and had to drop out; and in the search of love, she got into the hands of different men that took advantage of her being naive and innocent.

She was later introduced to prostitution by a friend and started living the life of a commercial sex worker.

In the course of her work, she encountered her father who wanted a commercial sex worker for a night and promised to give her N80,000.

Nollywood stars and comedian in the movie include Yemi Blaq, Eucharia Anunobi, and Gordons,

Others are Josephine Anumbor-Abraham, Charity Nnodi, Suzzan Emmanuel and many others.
