Doma (Nasarawa State) Aug. 18, 2017 (NAN) The Andoma of Doma in Nasarawa State, Alhaji Aliyu Ogah, has advised women to take advantage of their closeness with children to preach peace to their young minds.

“Women, as mothers, are naturally very close to their children and other young people. We want them to preach the virtues of peaceful co-existence to our children and youths,” Ogah said on Friday in Doma.

The monarch, while receiving Alago Women Development Association, who paid him a courtesy visit, appealed to the women to always imbibe the virtues of love, unity and patriotism to young Nigerians.

He urged them to always caution children and youths against violence by drawing their attention to its destructive consequences.

Ogah counseled his subjects on the need to live in peace and tolerate one another irrespective of ethnic, religious and political differences, saying that no nation or society could develop in chaos and confusion.

The monarch regretted the security challenges that had affected Nigeria’s progress over the years, and challenged religious leaders to preach peace and togetherness toward a better country.

Ogah appealed to parents to give adequate attention to the education of their children, especially the females among them.

“Education remains the best gifts parents and government should give their children because it prepares them to defend themselves and explore opportunities toward a better life,” he said.

Earlier, Mrs. Tabitha Madaki, National President of the group, had said that the visit was to intimate the royal father on the activities of the association and seek his blessings.

She said that the association had initiated good policies and programmes aimed at improving the living standard of the people, and urged the royal father to support such efforts to fruition. (NAN)
