Monarch in Nasarawa identifies peace as ingredient for national development

Kube (Nasarawa State), May 8, 2018 (NAN) Mr Christopher Jatau, the Uehra Ashea of Kube Chiefdom in Nasarawa State on Tuesday identified peaceful coexistence among Nigerians as necessary ingredient for the country’s development.

Jatau, a second class traditional ruler made this known in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Kube.

The monarch urged his people to continue to be their brothers’ keepers by living in peace and tolerating one another irrespective of their ethnic, religious and political affiliations.

“As custodian of people, culture and peace, it is our role to advise our subjects and other Nigerians on the need to live in peace and tolerate each other irrespective of our ethnic, religious and political affiliation.

“Peace is priceless, non negotiable and it is the necessary requirement for the development of any nation or society as no society can achieve meaningful progress without peace.

“No society or nation can achieve meaningful development in an atmosphere of rancour and confusion, hence the need for Nigerians to embrace peace all the time,’’ he said.

The monarch also called on the farmers and herdsmen to co-exist peacefully in order to boost food production in the state.

He said that peaceful co-existence among the farmers and herdsmen would also boost the state socio-economic development and food security.

Jatau urged his subjects and other Nigerians to be law abiding, respective constituted authorities and to shun negative tendencies in the interest of peace and national development.

The monarch urged his subjects to continue to support government at all levels to enjoy the dividends of democracy. (NAN)
