Abuja, Nov. 24, 2017 (NAN) Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted moderate dust haze weather over North-Central States on Saturday morning, with partly cloudy conditions over the southern axis throughout the day.

Nimet’s Weather Outlook by its Central Forecast Office on Friday in Abuja also predicted day and night temperatures in the range of 28 degrees Celsius to 36 degrees Celsius and 10 degrees Celsius to 20 degrees Celsius, respectively.

It predicted that southern states would experience cloudy weather over the coast in the morning, with likelihood of isolated thunderstorm in the afternoon and evening periods over the South-east.

It also predicted partly cloudy skies over the inland cities throughout the day, with day and night temperatures of 30 degrees Celsius to 34 degrees Celsius and 23 degrees Celsius to 24 degrees Celsius.

According to NiMet, northern states will experience dust haze which should reduce horizontal visibility to the range of about one-to-three kilometres.

It added that the weather would have further deterioration in horizontal visibility to less than or equal to 1000m over Yelwa, Kano, Katsina, Gusau throughout the forecast period.

The region is expected to have day and night temperatures value in the range of 33 degrees Celsius to 36 degrees Celsius and 18 to 20 degrees Celsius.

“Fresh dust has been raised over Chad Republic; this coupled with local dust within the country is expected to further deteriorate visibility within the Northern cities.

“On the other hand, the southern states are expected to be in cloudy condition with chances of localised thunder within the next 24 hours,” it added. (NAN)
