Lagos, April 19, 2018 (NAN) The Lagos Airport Police Command on Thursday, said it arraigned at least, 52 suspects in court for various alleged offences at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos between January and March.
The spokesman for the command, DSP. Joseph Alabi, disclosed this to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos.
He said the offences include; assault, stealing, obtaining by false pretenses as well as unlawful entry and touting, which contravened the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria’s (FAAN) bye Laws.
Alabi also said the command made 89 arrests and secured six convictions within the period under review.
The spokesman also told NAN that 80 cases were still under investigation and awaiting trial.
He promised that the command would continue to put measures in place to boost security at the airport and its environs, to guarantee the safety of passengers, airline operators and other airport users.
Alabi advised members of the public to abide by the rules and regulations of the airport, especially on the issue of restricted areas. (NAN)
