Lagos, April 25, 2018 (NAN) An Ikeja Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday remanded a 35- year-old auto mechanic, Yusuf Bello,
in Kirikiri prison for allegedly robbing a man of his car and laptop valued at N840,000, at gunpoint.

The Magistrate, Mrs S. K. Matepo, who gave the ruling, said the accused should remain behind bars pending advice from the
State Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).

She directed that the case file should be duplicated and a copy sent to the DPP for advice.

Bello, who resides at Moshe Village in Ogun, is facing a two-count of conspiracy and robbery.

The Prosecutor, Police Sgt. Innocent Odugbo told the court that the accused committed the offences with another man still at
large on Feb. 23 at Ayodele Street, Ikotun, a Lagos suburb.

Odugbo said the accused attacked the complainant, Mr Ahmed Usman, while returning home from work.

“`The accused flagged him down and pretended that they had missed their way, but before the complainant knew what was
happening, they had pointed a gun at him.

“Some passersby, who saw what was happening, apprehended the accused, while his accomplice escaped,’’ he said.

The offences contravened Sections 246, 297 and 299 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

The case was adjourned to May 25 for mention. (NAN)
