Threat

Modakeke (Osun), Nov 8, 2017 (NAN)A 35-year-old man, Semion Oluwole, was on Wednesday arraigned in a Modakeke Magistrates’ Court in Osun over alleged threat to life.
Oluwole is facing charge of threat to life and breach of peace.
The Prosecutor, Sgt. Ona Glory, told the court that the accused committed the offence on Oct 22 around 11:00 am at St Stephen’s Primary School, Modakeke-Ife.
Glory alleged that he threatened to use a cutlass to cut off the head of some members of a political party who attended a party congress.
He further told the court that the accused conducted himself in a manner likely to cause the breach of public peace at the congress’ venue.
The prosecutor said that the offence contravened Sections 80, 86 (2) and 249 (d) of the Criminal Code, Laws of Osun, 2003.
The accused however pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The Magistrate, Bose Awosan, granted the accused bail in the sum of N50,000 with two sureties in like sum.
Awosan said that the sureties must swear to affidavit of means and produce three years tax clearance certificates.
He further ruled that the sureties, who must reside within the court’s jurisdiction, should also present two recent passport photographs to the court’s registrar.
The Magistrate adjourned the case until Nov 13, for hearing. (NAN)
