Kaduna, May 24.2018(NAN) A middle aged man, Shehu Bello on Thursday dragged one Alhaji Kabiru his neighbour to a Sharia Court at Magajin Gari, Kaduna over alleged inappropriate installation of a kiosk at the front of his house.
The complainant, who resides at No BM8 Kargi Road, Tudun Wada area said through his lawyer, Abubakar Ibrahim that the defendant had asked him to allow his son install a kiosk in front of his house which he assented to.
He, however, lamented that the kiosk was wrongly installed as it was blocking the water pipes to his house, a situation which the defendant was not ready to address.
The complainant’s lawyer said that his client had inherited the house from his late father 12years ago, in which the defendant occupied a small space at the back of the house.
He added that Kabiru had bought the space before the demise of Bello’s father of which the former demarcated his part to avoid problems.
The complainant prayed the court to compel the defendant and his son to pack out of his space as he was not happy with his stay.
“Alhaji Kabiru’s son has turned his kiosk to a joint where young men come and disturb the peace of my client.
“Therefore, we want this honourable court to compel Alhaji’s son to evacuate from the area as soon as possible,” he said.
The defendant on his part denied the claims through his lawyer Nasir Abdullah, raising a counter claim of the ownership of the house.
Abdullah said: “We have a counter claim because the house belongs to my client not Shehu Bello.
“We , therefore appeal to the court to give us time to present proofs that would back our claim, “the counsel said.
The complainant’s counsel who mentioned that they had witnesses to testify for them urged the court to go and see the house so as to assess the situation.
The judge, Mallam Musa Saad, after listening to both parties adjourned the case to June 6.(NAN)
