Man docked for allegedly defiling minor

Abuja, June. 6, 2017 (NAN) A 26-year-old artisan, Bako Abdullahi, was on Tuesday arraigned in a Wuse Zone 2 Senior Magistrates’ Court, Abuja, for allegedly defiling a minor.
Abdullahi, of Dape village, Abuja, was arraigned on a count charge of defiling a minor.
The prosecutor, Solomon Haruna, said that one Asabe Gona, of Dape, Abuja, reported the case at Wuse Police Station on May, 25.
He said that on the same date, the defendant had an unlawful carnal knowledge of the 14-year-old daughter of the complainant without her consent.
According to the prosecutor, the victim was selling cold drinks and water at a construction site at Dape, Abuja.
Haruna said that the defendant lured the girl into an uncompleted building, overpowered and raped her.
The prosecutor said that the victim alerted her mother and the defendant was apprehended.
He said that the offence contravened Section 275 of the Penal Code.
The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The magistrate, Fatima Bukara, granted him bail in the sum of N200, 000 and a surety in like sum and adjourned the matter until July 6 for hearing (NAN)
