Man docked for alleged joint act, causing hurt

Abuja, April 18, 2018 (NAN) The police on Wednesday arraigned Olamide Balogun in a Kado Grade 1 Area Court, Abuja, for joint act and causing hurt.

The Prosecutor, Zannan Dalhatu, had told the court that Sunday Awolesi of Wuse Zone 5, Abuja, reported the matter at Utako Police Station, Abuja, on March 31.

Dalhatu said the defendant, and two others now at large, came to his duty post, beat him and inflicted injuries on him with a cutlass.

He said the defendant and others at large inflicted injuries on the complainant’s hand and leg.

The prosecutor said that the defendant was arrested and others ran to an unknown destination.

Dalhatu said the offences contravened sections 79 and 246 of the Penal Code.

However, Balogun pleaded not guilty and the judge, Alhaji Ahmed Ado, granted him bail in the sum of
N50,000 with one surety in like sum.

Ado adjourned the case until May 2 for hearing. (NAN)
