Man docked for alleged breach of trust, cheating

Abuja, March 19, 2018 (NAN) The Police on Monday arraigned a 35-year-old businessman, Abraham Fattai, in a Wuse Zone 2 Magistrates’ Court, Abuja, for alleged breach of trust.
The defendant of Wuse Zone 3, Abuja, is facing a two-count charge of criminal breach of trust and cheating.
The prosecutor, Mr Adeyemi Oyeyemi, told the court that Fattai committed the offences on March 1, at 9:00a.m.
Oyeyemi said that the complainant, Mr Daniel Ekpeyong, told the police that before traveling out of the country in January, 2017, he left some items in Fattai’s custody.
He listed them as eight computers, one printer, one photocopy machine and one uninterrupted power saver (UPS), all valued at N1,400,000.
The prosecutor said that the defendant, denied being in possession of the items, when Ekpeyong returned to Nigeria.
According to the prosecutor, the police conducted a search and discovered some of the items in Fattai’s house, while some others were discovered in his wife’s shop.
The offences contravened Sections 312 and 322 of the Penal Code.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The magistrate, Mr Chukwuemeka Umeadi, admitted the accused to bail in the sum of N250, 000, with two sureties in like sum, and adjourned the case until April 20 for hearing. (NAN)
