Man bags 2 months imprisonment for criminal trespass

Abuja, Jan. 17, 2017 (NAN) A Grade 1 Area Court in Karmo, Abuja, on Tuesday, sentenced a 24-year-old man, Desmond Ajiji, to two months in prison for criminal trespass and attempt to commit an offence.

The presiding judge, Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq, however gave Ajiji an option to pay N10, 000 fine and warned him to desist from committing crimes.

The convict, who resides at 3rd Avenue Gwarimpa Estate, Abuja, was convicted for two-count charge.

The convict prayed the court to temper justice with mercy, saying that times were hard.

Earlier, the prosecutor, Florence Auhioboh, told the court that he apprehended Ajiji
in War College Estate, Gwarimpa, Abuja, where he jumped the fence and attempted to steal a bag containing clothes values N50,000.

The prosecutor said the bag was recovered from the convict during investigation, an
offence punishable under Section 348 of the Penal Code. (NAN)
