Abuja, June 13, 2017 (NAN) A Karmo Grade 1 Area Court , Abuja, on Tuesday sentenced one Kabiru Abdullahi, 30, to one month imprisonment for criminal trespass.
The judge, Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq, however, gave Abdullahi, of no fixed address, an option of N5,000 fine.
The judge also advised him to be of good behaviour.
Shortly before the judgment was delivered, Abdullahi, who had pleaded guilty to the charge of criminal trespass, prayed the court to temper justice with mercy.
The prosecutor, Zannah Dalhatu, had earlier told the court that one Ezide Ezekiel and the security guard at Citec, Mbora Estate, Abuja, arrested and took the convict to the Life Camp Police Station on June 8.
Dalhatu said the convict was caught walking aimlessly around Citec Integrated building factory with no shirt or shoes.
“He, however, could not give any satisfactory answer when asked what he was doing there.
“He later confessed to the crime during police investigation,” he said.
According to the prosecutor, Abdullahi committed an offence punishable under Section 348 of the Penal Code. (NAN)
