Lagos, Sept. 27, 2017 (NAN) A man, Samuel Pelumi, on Wednesday, appeared before an Ebute Meta Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos State for alleged assault of a commercial sex worker.
The accused, 23, who is facing a two-count charge of ‘indecent assault’ and an act capable of causing a breach of peace, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
But the Police Prosecutor, Insp Oladele Adebayo, told the court that the accused committed the offences on Sept. 24 at 8.00 p.m., at J29 Hotel, Railway line, Lagos.
He said that the accused paid Success Ibeh, a sex worker, N1,000 for a round of sex and after the agreed time was up, Ibeh got up to leave the place.
Adebayo said that Ibe’s attempt to leave caused a disagreement that led to a scuffle between the duo.
“In the process, Pelumi pinned the complainant down and drove all his five fingers into her vagina with the intent to inflict injuries on her,” the prosecutor said.
The offences, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports, contravene Sections 172 and 187 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The Chief Magistrate, Mrs A.O. Ajibade, admitted the accused to a bail of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum.
The court fixed further hearing on the case for Oct. 26. (NAN)
