Ikorodu (Lagos State), March 2, 2017 (NAN) An Ikorodu Magistrates’ Court in Lagos State
on Thursday sentenced a 49- year- old man,Taiwo Abiodun, to 14 years in prison for defiling a 14-year-old girl.
The Chief Magistrate, Oshoniyi Abiodun, sentenced the Abiodun after he pleaded guilty to the one-count charge against him.
The Prosecutor, Sgt.John Iberedem, told the court that the convict, who resides at 4, Olumale Jabita Street, Oke-Ota Ona, Ikorodu, forcefully had canal knowledge of the minor in his bedroom.
He said “the convict called the girl (name withheld) on Feb. 8 at 5 p.m to help him to buy something.
“When she got to his room, the man forcefully dragged her to bed, covered her mouth and defiled her.
“A neighbour who saw the girl with blood dripping from her when she came out of the room shouted for help.
“Other neighbours then came out; the case was reported and Abiodun arrested by the police.”
Iberedem said the offence contravened Section 137 of Lagos State Criminal Code Laws. (NAN)
