Man, 46, docked over alleged N96,000 fraud

Ile-Ife (Osun), Feb. 23, 2017 (NAN) A 46- year-old man, Suleiman Durojaye, was on Thursday arraigned in an Ile-Ife Magistrates’ Court over alleged N96,000 fraud.
The prosecutor, Sgt. Sunday Osanyintuyi told the court that the accused committed the offence on Nov. 11, 2016 around 12:00 noon at Awoyeku Street, Ile-Ife.
Osanyintuyi said that Durojaye collected N96, 000 from one Juliana Awofisayo under false pretence that he would repair her Mercedes ML 500 car, but failed to do so.
He added that the offence was contrary to and punishable under Section 419 of the Criminal Code, Cap 34, Vol. 11, Laws of Osun, 2002.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the offence levelled against him.
The Defence Counsel, Mr Olalekan Babatunde, applied for the bail of the accused , pledging that he would not jump bail, but would provide reliable surety.
The Magistrate, Mrs Risikat Olayemi granted the accused a N50, 000 bail with one surety in like sum.
She adjourned the case till March 30, for hearing. (NAN)
