Man, 30, in court for allegedly stealing motorcycle

Modakeke (Osun), Dec. 29, 2016 (NAN) A 30- year-old man, Kola Banjo, who allegedly stole a motorcycle valued N133,000, was on Thursday arraigned before a Modakeke Magistrates’ Court in Osun.

The accused is facing a charge of stealing.

The prosecutor, Sgt. Glory Ona said the accused committed the offence on Dec. 1, around 4.00 a.m. at No 4, Yaya Quarters, Modakeke, in Ife North-East.

She said the accused stole a Bajaj Boxer motorcycle with registration No: WDE 378 AQ; property of one Oluwaseyi Ojediran.

Ona said the offence contravened section 383 (1) and punishable under section 390 (9) of the Criminal Code, Cap 34, Vol. 11, Laws of Osun, 2003.

The accused however denied the charge.

His counsel, Mr Abiodun Akindipe appealed to the court to grant his client bail on liberal terms.

In her ruling, the Magistrate Bose Awosan granted the accused N70, 000 bail with one surety in like sum.

She said the surety must swear to affidavit of means and reside within the jurisdiction of the court.

Awosan adjourned the case till Jan. 11, 2017, for hearing. (NAN)
