Modakeke (Osun State), Nov. 27, 2017 (NAN) An Osun Magistrates’ Court sitting in Modakeke-Ife, on Monday, sentenced a 23-year-old man, Adeyeye Bamidele, to
three months in prison for theft.
Bamidele of Iraye area was tried on two-count charge of housebreaking and theft, which he pleaded guilty.
Delivering judgment, the Magistrate, Bose Awosan, said Bamidele was not remorseful and had shown that he intentionally committed the act.
Awosan, who said that the sentence would serve as deterrent to others, stressed that
the convict would not have an option of fine.
Earlier, police prosecutor, Sgt. Ona Glory, had told the court that Bamidele
committed the offence on Nov. 5 at Uncle D Area, Toro Road, Modakeke-Ife.
Glory said the convict entered the house of Owolabi Gladys with intent to commit felony.
He added that Bamidele also stole N36,000 cash, belonging to Gladys.
According to him, the offence contravened sections 383, 390 (9) and 412 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Osun, 2003. (NAN)
