Sensitisation
By Mohammed Lawal
Sabongari (Kaduna State), Dec. 30, 2016 (NAN) Ahead of the forthcoming council poll in the state, the Kaduna State Independent Electoral Commission (KADSIECOM) says it has commenced sensitisation of voters to curb electoral violence.
Alhaji Ahmed Nuhu-Bamalli, KADSIECOM Commissioner in-charge of Zone II, said this while speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Sabongari Local Government Area of the state on Friday.
Nuhu-Bamalli spoke shortly after leading a team to sensitise voters on the local government election.
“We are here to sensitise voters on the need to conduct themselves before, during and after the local government poll.
“We will do everything possible to conduct a free, fair, transparent and credible election that will be acceptable to all,’’ he said.
While describing the turnout of participants at the sensitisation exercise in Sabongari as the best in the zone, the commissioner said parties, associations and gender were well represented in the exercise.
The state government had last year indicated its desire to hold council poll to elect officials to run the affairs of the 23 local government areas in the state but failed to do. (NAN)
