Kafanchan (Kaduna State) June 5, 2018 (NAN) The Administrator of Kaura Local Government in Kaduna State, Mr Zutung Agog on Tuesday appealed to all residents of the area to behave responsibly during the rescheduled local council election on Wednesday.
“All residents must desist from acts capable of breaching the peace and demonstrate high sense of responsibility during the exercise,”Agog said in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Kafanchan.
The Administrator particularly urged youths in the local government to shun every form of criminality during the election and support security agencies to ensure peace during and after the exercise.
“Kaura local government has a long history of being one of the most peaceful local government areas in the state and God-willing, we intend to keep it so,” he said.
Agog enjoined the people to come out enmasse and vote for credible candidates of their choice without recourse to ethnic or religious sentiments.
He pleaded with politicians to desist from inciting youths to engage in thuggery, saying as leaders, the politicians should put emphasis on issues that would impact positively on all.
Agog reminded candidates to the election that the law had provided avenues for complain and should utilise it instead of resorting to violence over any grievance they might have.
He called on parents, religious and traditional leaders to embark on value orientation at the family and community levels to minimise anti-social behaviours among the youth in the area. (NAN)
